Why Choose River Tech K-1?
In this section, we unveil the nurturing elements that foster our youngest students' holistic development, setting the stage for a future brimming with potential.
Unique Program Highlights:
-
Our student-teacher ratio for kindergarten and first grade is capped at a maximum of 9 students per teacher and classroom. This smaller group size enables us to provide substantial individual attention to each student.
-
Our foremost goal for kindergarten and first grade is to nurture proficient readers. Central to our K-1 program is learning to read, achieved through individual one-on-one tutoring with a teacher, phonics, songs, and games.
-
Physical and Creative Development: The program includes a wealth of hands-on STEM and arts & crafts activities, aimed at boosting motor skills and creativity, complemented by our indoor minigym and outdoor play areas.
-
Early Tech and Arts Exposure: Children get an introduction to performing arts and technology, including choir participation and foundational tech activities, laying the groundwork for advanced learning in these areas.
-
Field Trip Adventures: The students will do active play at Real Life Training grounds two times a month on Wednesdays. In the spring and fall they will join the older students on school field trips to outdoor parks, playground, farms and more. The students will travel together in our school bus. These outings are designed to complement classroom learning with practical, real-world experiences.

Questions or Assistance Needed?

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at learn@rivertech.me for any queries or further information.
03. Technology Requirements
In our Kindergarten, we focus on hands-on learning and social interaction through physical materials, so kindergarteners do not need to bring a device.
Your 1st Grader will need a modern tablet for their learning journey at River Tech.
We recommend a tablet that's no more than a couple of years old to ensure it can effectively run educational apps designed for early learning in literacy, numeracy, and creativity.
While iPads are favored for their robust performance and kid-friendly interface, we understand the importance of flexibility for families, so the choice of tablet can be based on what best fits your family's preferences and budget.
